Macky 2 had earlier announced that the album would come out in February, but he now says that due to unavoidable reasons, there will be a delay in releasing the project.

According to him, the postponement was caused by a late submission of vocals for an international collaboration he has been waiting for.

“I have good news and bad news… the bad news is that we have been forced to postpone the release of the Olijaba album.

“The good news is the postponement is because we have just we received vocals for another international collaboration on the album,” he told his fans.

Macky noted that his fans' desire for the album will be whetted by the release of a new track and accompanying video.

“I promise this album will be worth the wait. Also to help you wait… tomorrow [Tuesday] at midday I will drop another single and music video from the album,” he stated.

Last year in July, Macky 2 said that things “were tense” at the time, therefore, it was not the best time to drop the project.

“We haven’t even set like an actual release date because I feel like Zambia is tense right now and the climate just doesn’t allow,” he stated.

Zambia later headed to general elections in August 2021 and much attention was turned to the polls.
