Meet Riskey Chimo, Copperbelt Rapper Making it Big in Bemba

Dylan Mwansa, better known by his stage name Riskey Chimo, is a Copperbelt rapper known for his avant-garde Bemba and Nyanja raps.

His stage name has a lot of significance in his life as an artist. ‘Riskey’ is an acronym meaning: ‘Relevant, Informative, and Sanctified’. ‘Key’ denotes that the brand ‘Riskey’ is the key, and that it intends to address current topics, educate people, and promote sanctification via music as a medium for doing so.

Riskey Chimo's music is able to touch a wide spectrum of topics. Afrobeats, uptempo Kalindula and a wide range of other styles are all within his musical reach. He lives by the phrase "I kill beats and save souls".

That’s a mantra Riskey Chimo has coined for himself and lives by. Church Ulukuta, DJ Mzengaman, Mag44, and SuperRhymer are among Zambian producers that have worked with Risky Chimo in the past.

The Kids Festival, the Brave Only Music Power Tour, and the Livingstone Mukuni Park Food Market Festival attest to his worth as a Bemba rapper.

Additionally, he was nominated in the Best Art category during his tenure at University of Zambia in 2019. Riskey's songs have received a lot of attention and have topped the charts and different shows among them Radio Christian Voice and New Generation Reloaded.
