Zambian gospel artist Christine Malembe has devised a new way to market her music in the country. The ‘Ngufweniko’ hit maker has taken a different path compared to other artists in Zambia, and is selling her music in a custom made flash disk.

The flash drive already has music from three of her albums – all you do is buy and listen. She has a team on the ground selling the disks.

This move sparked a debate among her fans some saying that she would make more if she sold her music through streaming platforms. Others maintained that this was the best way to make money although it would promote piracy.

“Great idea ... The first ever to be done like this ... This is really Innovation... In the modern world this is recommended,” Starring stated.

Happy Wells Simumba added: “Always thought of this glad to see someone is doing it. If you can't copy or delete the album off the flash drive then it's a good move,” Maurice Mwale stated.

Her real name is Christine Nkole Chigande, and she believes music is a powerful way to spread the gospel to large groups. After beginning her career in music with Potiphar's band and subsequently joining Kings Malembe Malembe's, the well-known artist revealed that her ambition to broaden the influence of her music caused her to part ways with the latter.
