Zambian songstress Wezi Heartsound is a whole vibe when it comes to music in Zambia and she has General Ozzy to thank.

General Ozzy is a pioneer dancehall artist in Zambia and he is respected for safeguarding the genre but nurturing many as well. In fact, his younger brother Roberto says that his passion for music was partly inspired by Ozzy who was already in the game when he was in school.

Now, the ‘Moyo’ hit maker says that she has always been inspired by General Ozzy. Wezi said for years now, nothing has changed the fact that she is Ozzy’s biggest fan.

“Hi General Ozzy I’m your biggest fan in life! You’ve inspired me for many years!” she wrote on Facebook.

She appreciated the much he has done for Zambian music and her as well. And the icing of the cake, Wezi asked for a collaboration with the General himself.

“I’m thankful for everything you are to Zambian music and to me personally. I’m looking forward to another collaboration with you! Ka joint album wouldn’t be a bad idea,” she added.

Last year, the soulful Zambian singer continued with her musical overtures and they paid off handsomely with positive feedback from British music group Clean Bandit. Wezi indirectly asked the UK-based electronic music group in Cambridge to consider working with African vocalists.

Surprisingly, they responded in the affirmative, further stating their commitment in working with like-minded African artists.

“The day that @cleanbandit start working with African vocalists, I’m here! I love what they do,” she wrote.

In response, the band wrote: “We’re ready!” Clean Bandit was formed in 2008 and went full-blown in 2014 when their first single topped UK Singles Chart.

The band is made up of seven members – including two borthers. They had four top songs after the tables turned in their favour – each ranking first position on UK Singles Chart.
