Tuesday, November 23 was a great day for Zambian artists Tio, Wezi Heartsound, Ben Blazer and Sampa The Great after bagging a 2022 Grammy Award nomination.
It is such a big deal for Zambia as her artists gain recognition around the world. Wezi couldn’t hide her joy after entering the annals of history as one of the first Zambian female artists to be nominated for a Grammy.

She bagged the nomination under ‘Best Reggae Album’ category. The Zambian Soul and RnB songbird was featured by Etana in her ‘Pamoja’ album.
Grammy Awards an artist or featured artist, songwriters of new material, producer, recording engineer, mixer and mastering engineer. It is by this virtue that she was nominated.
“What an amazing time to be alive! To be a Zambian & @recordingacademy nominated artiste at this point in time is totally unbelievable! Thank you @etanastrongone for collaborating with me on the PAMOJA album!” she wrote.

Sampa The Great, Blazer and Tio were nominated for their collaboration with Angolan songstress Angelique Kidjo.
Fellow artists couldn’t help but celebrate her for this major milestone.
Cleo Ice Queen who recently won an AFRIMA award lauded Wezi and the other Zambian artists who made it to the Grammy nomination list.
“Wezi I’m weak in the knees girl!!! I’m so so happy!!! So so so happy for you! Words can’t express!!! I’m proud of you congratulations,” she posted.
F Jay congratulated the quartet on the recent success. Roberto also congratulated the quartet saying it is a big deal for Zambian music.
“What a moment...Ben Blazer, Tio, Sampa The Great, Wezi all Nominated for a Grammy. This is inspiring, We are on the way. Wishing them all the best in the respective projects, they worked on. Bravo Guys,” Roberto posted.
