Ugandan artist Gravity Omutujju has vowed never to release an Amapiano song despite the genre’s massive growth and demand across Africa.

Amapiano is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in 2012. It is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide percussive bass lines.

While other Ugandan artists like B2C, Azawi, Navio and Spice Diana among others are embracing the genre, Gravity Omutuju says he will never jump on that trend mainly because he is not a dancer.

"I will never sing Amapiano because I am not a dancer. That music genre is meant for people who know how to dance, and that’s not me," he said during an interview with NBS After5.

Gravity Omutujju was one of the most active artists last year, releasing back to back music. He hopes to carry that trend and resilience this year because he has a lot of music in stock for his fans and hopes to be releasing a song every month.

"I have a new song called ‘Big Boys’ that I will be dropping soon, and there are lots of other music videos in the pipeline. So, I’ll be dropping them one by one every month," Gravity added.

He is currently trending thanks to his 'Tusimbudde' hit that is bossing music charts and birthing a number of hilarious video challenges on different social media platforms.
