It is yet another year for Zambian artists to make and release great music. If 2021 is anything to go by, we can expect bigger and greater music for the year. And you can expect more albums for the year. So, which albums can we expect in 2022?

Enigma – Jay Rox

Jay Rox has started 2022 on a highwith a new album dubbed ‘Enigma’.  He features the best of the best in the industry including; Slap Dee, Yo Maps and Macky 2. If you follow his music, you will realize that he is among the best rappers in the history of Zed Hip-hop.

Olijaba – Macky 2

Macky 2’s upcoming album is one of the most awaited projects of 2022. ‘Olijaba’ is a big album which is based on his legacy. It could be his last album as he looks to exit the musical scene.

In July, he explained why he did not release the album when many expected him to release it. He said that Zambia was tense at the timed. Zambia was headed to general elections in August 2021. Much attention was turned to the polls.

Leader of the New School - Cleo Ice Queen

Look out for ‘Leader of The New School’ EP by the hip hop queen Cleo Ice Queen. It is a fiery EP with the best talents on board. As for specifics – who is featured on what song – watch out for its release in 2022.

Bobby East

He has not disclosed the name of the album yet, but it will be big. He says that he will not hold back from spending a fortune to make his visuals stand out  and be of an international class.

Chanda na Kay

The chanting duo have in the past released great music but not half as good as ‘Bulongo’ a new jam they released just before New Year. So great is it that there is a viral dance challenge for it all. In addition, expect a new album from the duo sometime in the year.
