Zambian musician Bombshell Grenade has been crowned Best Female Rapper in Africa in the 2021 AFRIMMA awards.
Bombshell’s AFRIMMA win came after dropping her album ‘Mfumu Kadzi’ which is a scintillating work of arts. Before this, she released her hit single ‘Assassin’ which was also a massive tune.

She becomes the second female Zambian artist to scoop a prestigious award in the past one month after Cleo Ice Queen bagged an AFRIMA award as the Best Female Artist in Southern Africa.
In her speech in Nigeria where the ceremony went down, Cleo attributed her success to her husband, children and fans.
“A big thank you to God who is my light and salvation. A big thank you to my husband, my family and friends; my greatest support system. A big thank you to my team that makes things happen. Biggest thank you to #IceQueenNation the #IceyGang the #IceyOnes the #IceQubez for the constant love and support! You guys did this!” she posted.

Major acts in the 8th Edition of AFRIMMA awards included: Sauti Sol (Kenya), Ladipoe (Nigeria), Focalistic (South Africa), Soweto's Finest (South Africa), Ruger (Nigeria), Toofan (Togo), DJ Tarico (Mozambiqure) Zuchu (Tanzania) and Nandy (Tanzania).
