Celebrated Uganda artist DJ Shiru has vowed to help young artists make it in the music industry by offering them collaborations.

DJ Shiru is one of the few Ugandan artists that have mastered the skill of producing high quality albums that are streamed by thousands across the continent. With his popularity, he has promised to extend a helping hand to budding artists.

"As long as you have good work, I will work with you because I appreciate new talent. If you are talented and not proud, I'm willing to do a song with you. But if you have a big ego, we can't be because I want someone on the same level with me,” he told BBS TV.

Shading more light on how the collabos will work, DJ Shiru said the expenses will be catered for by both parties, adding that his focus is not on getting money from the young artists, but helping them grow.

DJ Shiru made the statements during a video shoot with rising female artist Jovie Pop titled 'Dembe Lyo'.

"I had always wanted to work with DJ Shiru and I alerted my management who made it happen. I'm so happy because I like him and his work. Ever since I was young, I used to follow him" Jovie said.

DJ Shiru says he was still pushing his new album when he was approached by Jovie's management for the collaboration and didn't hesitate.

"I gave in because you never know what may come out,” Shiru said.
