Jazzy Boy Slams Zambian Music Award Organisers for Snubbing Producers

Zambian producer Jazzy Boy has called on the organizers of different artist awards to remember producers as well.

He says that producers are forgotten in many of national and continental awards yet they are the people who carry the mantle in ensuring the song is a hit.

“In Zambia us music producer's you treat us like dogs how come Ama awards no category of producer's so you think music mwachitile nominate yaleipangafye yeka Zonna,” he wrote.

His sentiments were later aired on national TV and many agreed that producers should be recognized as well.

“Untold true story in music industry in Africa! Now they will put producers category in next awards! Thank you for courageously highlighting this fact!” Kenneth Nasiboye said.

Timoth Mvula added that, “Producers, the Sound Engineers, Directors and any other team behind the scenes of production of sound music deserve the credit for craft they display. Jazz Boy Running It Beats you are right biggie. Otherwise great work on the Bwacha Song ni Banger Sana Biggie.”

However, the Grammy awards are an exception as they award everyone in a hit album. Grammy fetes an artist or artists behind the song, featured artist, songwriters of new material, producer, recording engineer, mixer and mastering engineer.
