Wizkid, Rema, Tems, CKay Earn MOBO Awards 2021 Nomination

Nigerian singers Wizkid and Rema will be battling for the Best International Act category in the 2021 MOBO Awards. The category is a star-studded list of artists that include Drake, Kanye West, Lil Nas, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G and Doja CAT.

Rema and Wizkid are also nominated for the Best African Act category, a list which also includes Davido, Burna Boy, Tems, Tiwa Savage and inclusion for fast-rising Mavin star Ayra Starr and CKay whose hit single ‘Love Nwantiti’ is still enjoying massive airplay globally.

This is the second time Wizkid has bagged two MOBO Awards nominations for Best International Act and Best African Act in the same year. Wizkid has had an impressive year, setting a new record of being the first African singer to have an album – Made in Lagos stay on the Billboard World Albums Chart for the whole year. The album released in 2020 has now spent 52 weeks on the chart.

Wizkid has also been tipped to win the Grammy Awards World Best Album category with Made In Lagos and several other categories with ‘Essence’ a single he featured Tems and Justin Bieber in its remix.

Nigerian producers P2J and Juls were also nominated for the MOBOs Best Producer category. The 2021 MOBO Awards ceremony where winners will be announced has been scheduled for December 5, 2021.
