South African pop star Makhadzi has signed a R120 million deal courtesy of ‘Kokhova’ album that she released at the height of COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

The Limpopo-born dance music queen signed the multi-million deal with Kicks Sportswear South Africa.

The ‘Zwivhuya’ hit maker says all this is God’s doing and she never expected that she would one day get to such heights.

“When God's timing is right everything falls into place, blessings come together and dreams become a reality. I am happy to announce that I have signed a R 120 million mega deal called Kokovha with @kickssportswear_sa to develop and create amazing products that will reflect everything that I am and believe in,” she informed her fans.

In September 2021, her label Open Mic Productions announced that ‘Kokhova’ album released in 2020 attained gold status.

‘Kokhova’ is the album that squarely booked Makhadzi a place in the heart of her people from Limpopo and beyond. Makhadzi is South Africa’s first female artist to reach gold in album - not just with a single song. Through ‘Kokhova’, she was able to shatter the records and make history.
