Ugandan artist Ykee Benda has urged wealthy persons in the country to consider investing in the local music industry, arguing that the music scene is growing and those who invest could reap big in the near future.

Currently the music industry is under lockdown due to the corona pandemic that hit the count over one and a half years ago.

This has tremendously affected the once skyrocketing music industry, but artists got some bit of hope when President Yoweri Museveni hinted that the lockdown on the arts industry will be lifted early next year, allowing concerts, bars and performances to resume.

The Mpaka Records boss believes the industry will be so profitable thereafter, and has encouraged wealthy Ugandans to put their money in music as a long term asset.

“Dear rich men and women of Uganda, I’m calling you out to “invest” in Ugandan music. This is a very very big and good business that can’t kill your money if you go about it the right way. Invest in music talents, you'll thank me later," Ykee Benda shared on his official Twitter handle.
