Prince Kaybee Issues Update on His Contract with Universal Music after Recent Rant

Mzansi artist Prince Kaybee has issued an update on the status of his contract with Universal music, noting that some of his concerns have been fixed following his recent rant.

Speaking during a recent, Kaybee noted that he is working on mending his relationship with the label by addressing various sections of his contract that he’s not happy with.

“It’s a bit of a back and forth. I’m very close with the MD of Universal even before I signed the contract — very close friend — so the problem is not him. There are people he sends instructions to and some people don’t do their work. The middle people are the ones who I’m fighting with but I had to voice out so the message can get to him,” he told Tshisha Live.

Two weeks ago, Kaybee ranted saying that he was done and dusted with the label and couldn’t wait for his contract to lapse for him to leave.

He accused the label of failing to push his music as required, adding that it takes weeks for his new music to be played by radio stations yet the label claims to be looking after his interests.

“I don’t wanna lie, my songs do the work, I can’t wait to leave Universal,” he tweeted.
