Three South African artists, Elaine, DJ Lag and Major League DJz have been chosen to be part of YouTube Black Voices Music Class 2022.
They will be part of 54 African artists from different countries in the world taking part in the global campaign.

This is not a mean fete for the nominated South African artists who could not hide the joy of landing such a pick by the global video giant.
“We are proud to be part of @youtubemusic’s #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Class of 2022,” the duo wrote.
Elaine told her fans: “So happy to be part of the #YouTubeBlack Voices Music Check out my video on @youtubemusic’s #YouTubeBlack Voices playlist.”
She is excited that this platform will expand her fan base. “The fund will give me, a black South African girl, the platform to be heard, seen and celebrated on a global stage,” she added.
DJ Lag says he is excited about the new opportunity as he joins other songwriters and producers from all over the world.

Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s sub-Saharan head of music said that YouTube Black Voices Fund will boost those attending its class in 2022. In addition, Awodisayo says, this fund will nurture, celebrate and harness artists’ skills in songwriting and production.
