Nigerian singer and songwriter Joeboy has released a new single titled ‘Alcohol’.

With production from Nigerian producer Tempoe, ‘Alcohol’ gives fans another taste of the unique sound and creativity that have placed Joeboy on the map as one of the most exciting Afropop acts. 

The new song has that signature Joeboy vocals, perfectly packed in catchy lyrics and beats as the 24-year-old rising star declares that he does not want to reason bad things or go back to where he was before.

“That’s why I sip my alcohol I don’t wanna reason bad things no more I don’t wanna go back to where I dey before Make nobody stress me no disturb me jo jo jo,” read part of the song’s chorus.

‘Alcohol’ serves as the first solo single for Joeboy this year since he released his debut album Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic’ which has been hugely successful. The 13-track project with no featured artists dropped on February 4, 2021, and houses among others the hit singles ‘Focus’, ‘Show Me’, and ‘Lonely’.

How Nigerian Musicians Penetrated The International Market

The song has already been praised by a number of Naija music lovers, with one of them commenting on the singer’s YouTube channel that “Joeboy's d only naija artist with 100% reliability of sweet song.”
