For the love of music, Lady Du remains steadfast with the beats, rhythms and tunes as her lifeline.

She is a great artist to say the least and one of the most talented female Mzansi artists.

However, besides music, she possesses other qualifications – job wise – but she still chose music despite all this.

In a recent Facebook post, she told her fans that she holds 19 other qualifications besides doing music.

“I take everything I do serious, you can put me anywhere, I have 19 qualifications, I’m not just a musician!!!! I’ve worked with cars, in logistics, in the beauty industry, I have a fire fighting qualification, health and safety, anatomy and physiology. Not the normal one ke mina,” her post read.

But, she is known more for her musical exploits than she is known for any other thing in Mzansi.

In her tribute to the late Amapiano artist Mpura, she recalled how the late singer kick-started her music career.

“Lady Du recalled that she was seated in the studio when Mpura unexpectedly invited her to record.

The late artist was then working with other Yano artists and was recording his song ‘Umsebenzi Wethu’.

Lady Du was fighting depression at the time and she never thought she would sing at all in her state.

“Mpura was the one person who gave me an opportunity when I was just sitting at the studio. When they were singing Umsebenzi Wethu, then he called me to the mic. At that time I was depressed, I wasn't in a good space. I said to Mpura I can't sing,” she told mourners.

ZaLebs reports that Mpura realized Lady Du was not in a good emotional state when she started crying as they recorded ‘Umsebenzi Wethu’.

He pulled her aside and gave her money to take care of her baby. He thereafter became a pillar to lean on musically for Lady Du.

She added that Mpura always talked of leaving a legacy by helping his mum and family.

A fortnight ago, Makhadzi featured her in her latest song ‘Tchukutsha’ off her ‘African Queen’ album.
