SuperRhymer Exits Hip-hop Genre with ‘Glory’ Mixtape

South African rapper SuperRhymer is officially done with rap music following the release of his final mixtape ‘Glory’.

The mixtape features big stars like DG, TIM and Euniy Kalos Muzi. It is a representation of the greatness of his rap career.

When he spoke to ZMB Talks last month, he announced to his fans his decision to quit rap and tap onto another genre.

SuperRhymer says he thrives in diversity which he will only achieve by channeling all his energies to another genre.

The decision to quit rap comes barely three months after SuperRhymer made his comeback in themusic scene following a long hiatus. SuperRhymer went mute in October 2020 only to resurface in the middle of 2021.

In a candid interview with ZMB, the rapper says he took a lot of time to negotiate his contract renewal with his label Xplode+.

“One of the reasons why I have been quiet from the last time I released my song was my contract had expired with my label so I was in discussion on whether I want to renew the contract or not,” he explains.

The ‘Yahweh’ hit maker opined that he had several issues weighing him down and it took a long time to iron it out with his label.

One of the things he was concerned about is poor distribution of his songs by his label.

“I felt like we didn’t do well with distribution. I felt like on my end, I had put in a lot of work and my expectation was different from what I got. So it was a thing where I didn’t want us to be doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,” he says.

He recently released his new song ‘Yahweh’ with a different feel where he talks of situations in life that have pinned him down.

It is moral filled song urging people not to be too quick to judge others because everyone has a story to tell about their life.
