Speaking during a recent interview, Ykee Benda defended his song, noting that it is his first re-do and he believes he did it justice, as it is one of the jams he listened to while growing up.

"For the 5 years I have been in music, I have never redone anyone's song but I chose this because it is one of my all-time favorite songs.I was just re-voicing someone so powerful and beautiful so did it to show the young generation that music just hasn't started on us. People had good music before us," he said.

"I wanted to do something unique. The song is very big and demanding that is why I have some people supporting me for executing it. This digital generation doesn't know what they are talking about but it is one of the biggest songs trending on my album right now," Ykee Benda told NBS Uncut.
