Iryn Namubiru and Juliana Kanyomozi are arguably two of the most celebrated vocalists in the Ugandan music industry. The two were once part of the same music group, but parted ways when the group was disbanded. The break-up led to speculation that the two had their own issues, but they have both dismissed the claims.

Iryn Namubiru and Juliana Kanyomozi both made their music debuts in 1995. When the two artists met at Namasagali College, they formed a girl group I-Jay in 1999. In 2000, they released their first 7-track album titled ‘WAIT’ which featured songs like; "Wait RMX (Ft Steve Jean)’, ‘Not Good Enough’, among others. Shortly after releasing the album, they parted ways. Juliana embarked on a solo career while Iryn Namubiru left for France.
Iryn Namubiru has won several awards including; PAM Awards, Buzz magazine, Diva Awards, Hipipo among others. Juliana Kanyomozi has won PAM Awards, HiPipo, Kora Awards, ASFAs, BEFTA, EA Music Awards and Tanzania Music Awards among others.
Iryn Namubiru has 5 albums namely; Ensi, Nkuweeki, Bonna Obasinga Mpulira and Let's Go. Juliana Kanyomozi has two albums; Kanyimbe which she dropped in 2015 and Bits and Pieces in 2018.

Life outside Music
Iryn Namubiru was in 2020 unveiled as one of the ambassadors of French Language in Uganda. In 2008, Kanyomozi made her debut in the film industry acting in Henry Ssali’s ‘Kiwani’. In 2009, Juliana Kanyomozi was appointed a Tusker Project Fame judge; a post she held until 2013. She also worked on Capital FM radio on a morning show. In March, Juliana signed an international deal with Oriflame as one of its brand ambassadors in East Africa.
