Wezi Heartsound Joins Nexus Music after ‘Nasuzika’ Release

Wezi Heartsound has officially joined ‘the winning team’, Nexus Music Entertainment. “Welcome to The Winning Team Wezi HeartSound,” the label posted on its Instagram page.

She joins Nexus a week after taking lead in a powerful tribute song ‘Nasuzika’ to Zambians who have lost loved ones.

Nexus partnered with musical legends in Zambia and composed a tribute song ‘Nasuzika’ to encourage all bereaved families.

‘Nasuzika’ features Wezi, Chef 187, Mumba Yachi, B Flow, James Sakala and Maureen Lilanda.

She says that expression of grief is a sign of love which is what ‘Nasuzika’ is built on. Wezi adds that 2021 has been a tough year especially due to the loss of loved one including Zambia’s founding father Dr Kenneth Kaunda.

On a personal level, she composed the song following the death of her aunt and then she realized many more Zambians were battling loss by death.

“Grief is an expression of love for those we have lost along the way. This year was difficult for many of us, I personally sang this song with my family end of January this year when we lost my mother’s immediate elder sister! Looking around, I realized that this song was comforting me and many people needed comfort also. That’s why we recorded this legendary Tumbuka song that’s been in existence for many generations,” Wezi explained.

Together with her team, she says they felt the pain of loss while recording the video but she is happy the song is touching and changing lives out there. Nexus has been on a charm offensive with top talent in the house. Big names in the industry such as Chef 187, Abel Chungu, Towela Kaira, Neo Slayer, Xaven, T-Sean among others are part of the label led by KB.
