Ykee Benda Reveals 2 Factors he considers Before Doing Collabos

Ugandan artist Ykee Benda has opened up on what he looks out for when doing collabos, noting that for him, it takes positive vibe and deep connection with the other party.

According to him, he does not just feature in collabos as he has to build a connection with someone before they get into the studio.

"I don't make music by intentionally reaching out to an artist to join me in the studio for a song. I usually make music out of the vibe I have with that person. But having to prepare yourself writing lyrics for the other artist to jump on, kills the vibe and makes you release mediocre songs. It has to be natural," he said.

Over the past few days, Ykee Benda has been trending thanks to his ‘Banange’ hit featuring Lydia Jazmine.  Explaining how they linked up, Ykee Benda noted that they first bult their friendship before hitting the studio.

"Lydia Jazmine has been visiting my offices for quite some time. We got time to chat as friends, plus we have businesses together. One day in the studio, the producer played a beat and I started singing out the lyrics with her and it made sense," he divulged.

'Banange' was written by Ykee Benda and is off his yet to be released studio album dubbed 'Kirabo'. The song was produced by Mpaka Records' Krazy Beats.
