Yaw Tog Reacts To Backlash from His Making Stormzy Famous Comment

Young and fast-growing rapper Yaw Tog who has recently been under attack for suggesting that he made Stormzy more popular in Ghana, has been advised by his die-hard fans to ignore the critics and focus on his booming career.

The young rapper broke into the music scene in 2020 with his hit song "Sore," in which he had featured Asaaka Boys and he became even more prominent when he got British rapper, Stomzy on the remix of the song.
Nonetheless, the comment of the young Rapper that he made Stormzy famous has attracted comments from music lovers who have tagged him as; "selfish and ungrateful."
Speaking in an interview with MzGee on TV3, Taw Tog said: "He made me more popular in this market. And I made him more popular here too. Because people didn’t know Stormzy in Ghana. So I think we both did magic to ourselves. Magic to our brands.”

While some industry players have negatively commented, others believe that what the rapper said is actually the truth, as Stormzy ended up gaining more popularity in Ghana after the collaboration.
The artiste has indicated on his social media page that his comments have been misconstrued because he didn’t have any ill intentions. He wrote in a tweet dated July 7, 2021: "It's quite unfortunate a very harmless comment I made during a recent interview has been misconstrued by a few for whatever reason but regardless, we move. It's Big Mike on the Remix."
