Ykee Benda Opens up on His Battle with Covid-19, Advices Ugandans to Stay at Home

Ugandan artist Ykee Benda has regretted advocating for the reopening of bars after contracting the deadly coronavirus.

The Mpaka Records boss in a recent interview with Spark TV opened up on his experience after he testing positive for COVID-19, noting that it was a bad idea demanding that the authorities let back artists on stage.

According to Ykee Benda, he suspects that he contracted the virus during a small live band performance he had for his fans.

He didn't observe the guidelines provided by the government and received cash from his fans, exposing himself to the virus. According to Benda, he discovered he was infected after a video shoot of one of his videos that will feature on his upcoming studio album titled 'Kirabo'.

Ykee Benda revealed he was bedridden for close to two weeks adding that it is one of the worst experiences he has ever encountered.

According to him, Covid19 in a dangerous disease and Ugandans should stay at home as advised by the government.

"I have been hit by this virus since Tuesday last week. The headaches, the joints, discomfort, the sleepless nights, the fevers. Terrible! But I am not here to continue to scare you. I am here to give you hope. I'm finally pulling through hence I have chosen to share," Ykee Benda posted.

He has since made a full recovery and Dre Cali is among the few friends that celebrated his getting better.
