Whozu Addresses Claims of Dissing Diamond in His Latest Hit ‘Mazoea’

Tanzanian singer Whozu has addressed claims of dissing WCB boss Diamond Platnumzin his Mazoea hit over his recent trip to South Africa, noting that fans should not read too much into it.

Last month, Diamond went to South Africa to finish his second studio album; a move that elicited reactions from different quarters. Notably, other bongo musicians who went to South Africa to complete their albums include Nandy, Marioo, Mabantu, and Rich Mavoko.

According to Whozu, musicians should use the available local resources to work on their projects instead of moving to foreign countries. Speaking during a recent interview, Whozu, however clarified that his comments were based on satire and they should not be taken seriously.

He noted that no musician should be restricted from working with musicians from any country.

“Ukinifutilia mimi ni mtu wa utani...lazima uheshimu mtu anavyotoka hapa kwenda nchi ya nje kufanya kazi ni njia moja ya kukuza sanaa yetu ya bongo flava. Lakini watu wasichukulie ninachosema kama serious, lazima umuheshimu kwa sababu zote ni gharama. Kwa kila siku lazima uhueshimu biashara za watu,” said Whozu.

The singer added he also plans to move to South Africa to complete his album as he has two pending collaborations from within the country.
