Gyakie Gets Featured on BBC

Ghana’s young and fast-rising songstress Jackie Acheampong popularly known in the music circle as Gyakie, has been featured on BBC World Service’s. The recognition comes days after her name appeared on a billboard at Times Square.
The interview by the BBC focus on Africa team was contacted by Thomas Naadi, who is BBC’s Ghana correspondent in Accra Ghana. Gyakie has become one of the most talked-about ladies in the entertainment industry for being the first African female musician to work with Spotify on their Equal Initiative.

The Equal Initiative program was launched by Spotify a few days ago. It is focused on promoting gender equity and giving support to innovative female artists in the music industry from all over the world. The program entails 
Other female artists who have received such recognition from Spotify include Saweetie, Natalia Lafourcade, and Tkay Maidza. They will be receiving playlist support, marketing, and more, as from the following year, 2022.

She has also featured several prominent artists from within Ghana, such as Bisa Kdei and Koffi Jamar, and across the borders, such as Omah Lay and Davido from Nigeria. While she is still promoting her latest song, Gyakie has hinted more international collaboration to her music lovers.
