Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) Appoints Interim Board

The Ghana Music Rights Organization has appointed an Interim Board of five members to run the affairs of the Society pending the election of a new Board. This took place at an Extra-Ordinary Meeting held at the national Cultural Centre, Kumasi.
The following people were elected by the members at the meeting;
1. Rex Owusu Marfo (Chair Person)
2. Diana Hopeson
3. Ahmed Band
4. Augustina Addison
5. Abraham Kofi Boakye
The resolution at the meeting was that the Interim Board was to have an expiration of 40 days by which the board should ensure the Board elections are conducted and also to approve all administrative costs and any other capital expenditure as per the laws of the society.

This took place after the CEO asked members to present the state of GHAMRO address the Extra-ordinary meeting. Also, the chairman of the Election Committee read his report to the members at the mentioned meeting concerning the status of the Board Election and reasons why the process delayed after congress mandated them to conduct the Board Elections within 3 months on October 12, 2020.
Afterward, there was an election to dissolve the said committee by the members who were not satisfied with their work and mandated the Interim Board to appoint a New Election Committee to conduct the Board Election within 40 days.

On the 22nd of April 2021, the Interim Board held their first meeting to appoint a new Election Committee that consists the following persons;
Augustina Addison (chairperson)
Aziz Haruna Sungumo
Eric Afriye
Seth Amponsah
Jethro Kwabena Donkor
The date for the Board Elections will be communicated by the New Election Committee.
