Celebrated Ugandan luga flow rapper Feffe Bussi has opened up on why the local hip-hop industry hasn't grown fully, noting that it is a budding genre that needs to be given more it.

According to Feffe Bussi, Hip-hop is a culture that needs to be fully consumed and understood before reaping from it.

"The industry is just growing and another thing, this genre is not ours, we didn't invent it. We always look at the 2 Pacs and other legends. Besides this isn't just a genre but a culture. It isn't about just music but a culture that someone needs to believe in to pursue it. Many of us are in Hip-hop because it is like a belief to us," Feffe said.

Currently, the Ugandan hip-hop scene is dominated by youthful musicians who always drop songs praising themselves and beefing with other artists.

While these songs may have nice beats and great production, they rarely make it across the border since only Ugandans can relate to the message.

Feffe Bussi says he is different from these group of singers as his music is educative and also entertaining.
