Wizkid’s 2017 record Come Closer has just earned another international record certification. The song which featured international superstar rapper, Drake has just been certified platinum in the UK and gold in Australia.

The information on BRITs Certified Awards website page explains that singles are awarded Platinum status when, based on Official Charts Company data, they achieve 600,000 units. For Australia, Gold status is earned when a record achieves 35,000 units. This means Wizkid’s Come Closer has sold 600,000 units in the UK and 35,000 units in Australia.

Come Closer also has music recording certifications in the US and Canada where it’s already been certified Gold and Platinum respectively.

Released in 2017, Wizkid’s Come Closer was a local hit and a very well accepted record internationally. It charted in Canada, Netherlands, France, Scotland, Switzerland, UK and the US where it peaked 29 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-hop Airplay chart.

Only a few days ago, Leandro Hidalgo, the sound engineer who mixed the record took to his instagram page to show off the certification plaque for the record’s new feats.

Wizkid is still enjoying the buzz off his latest album, Made in Lagos. He recently just released a music video for the Tems featured record, Essence and just like Come Closer, it's just another Wizkid classic.
