New Music Naija: Cheque To Drop Debut Album This Year

Fast-rising Nigerian singer and Rapper Cheque has hinted that he will be dropping his debut album this 2021.

Super Boy Cheque as he is popularly reffered to by his fans made the announcement in a post on his official Twitter handle.

In the tweet, the 'Zoom' hit maker said the album will be making history.

"Album year, Let’s make history," Cheque captioned two photos he posted on Twitter.

The 25-year-old singer recently teamed up with another rising star Fireboy DML for the single 'History'.

'History' is still among trending songs in Nigeria.

Born Akanbi Bamidele Brett, Cheque is currently signed to rapper Phyno’s Penthauze Records.

He started his music career in 2015 while still in the university.

Cheque signed to Penthauze Records in February 2019 after he was discovered by Phyno through one of his Instagram freestyling sessions.

The singer gained prominence in 2020 after released the 'Razor' EP a 5-track project that rose to Top 5 Nigerian albums on iTunes, within 24 hours of its release.

Singles housed in the EP aside from 'Zoom' are 'Loco', 'Satisfied' 'Odun' and 'Hollywood'.
