Music is food for the soul; these words appropriately describe the latest single by classical music king Kelechi dubbed ‘Walai’.
‘Walai’ is a Swahili word that translates to ‘I swear’. In context, this song is a promise song in which Kelechi swears to be true to the love of his life.
As always, he delivers a well-thought-out classical jam with a soft RnB feel and subtle vocals which convey deep emotions throughout the song.
The visuals present people of different walks of life expressing their love by performing different acts to their lovers.
The concept is definitely timeless, which will make ‘Walai’ relevant years down the line.
The jam which already has over 2,000 views on YouTube in just a few hours has been received well by fans who took the opportunity to dedicate it to their loved ones on the comment section.
“Sijui niite style ama nn I just love the way he kwamas in his voice, “ one fan commented to which Kelechi responded by laughing.
Meanwhile, ‘Nitazoea’ which was released six months ago is still doing well with over 45,000 views on YouTube.
'Nitazoea' which is in form of audio-only is a love song about a tough breakup. In this jam, Kelechi soothes himself with encouraging words after going through a breakup with someone he thought really loved him.
He reminisces on the time their shared but ultimately purposes to heal and move on after getting used to loneliness.
