Darrel Magachani Furai alias Likkle Art has a reason to thank God for his musical talent that has since earned him a scholarship for his high school education.

Likkle Art is a budding dancehall artiste schooling at Budiriro High School. He is in Form Two. He has been using songs to encourage youth in the ghetto and AFZ spotted his talent and offered to take him to a boarding school of his pick with everything paid for.

Likkle set tongue wagging after appearing in a dancehall music video produced by Chillspot Records known for nailing dancehall and Zimdancehall genres.

AFZ’s boss Simba Nyabadza told Gemnation that “As a corporate we want the youngster to pursue his education because he has the skill but skill alone is not enough. He needs education so that he will be able to monetize his talent. So the contract is for one year.

“He can enroll at any school of his choice and we will support him. But what we want is for him to impact the society in a positive way. So it is deliberate that the contract is for one year.”

DJ Levels and DJ Fantan of Chillspot Records were pivotal in pushing for the scholarship. DJ Fantan described Likkle as a young man who is determined and one who does not give up easily.

He recalled dismissing him severally but Likkle insisted that he is the man for the show.

“The next thing we went into the studio and I posted a video and we got a call from AFZ saying they wanted to sponsor him. So we are happy for him that he has managed to get a scholarship even before he released an album out,” DJ Fantan said.
