Diamond: Rayvanny’s Lyrics on ‘Lala Salama’ Moved me to Tears

WCB boss Diamond Platnumz has explained how Rayvanny touched him with his lyrics in the ‘Lala Salama Magufuli’ single. Speaking during a recent interview, Diamond noted after listening to Rayvanny lyrics, he had an emotional breakdown.

Diamond acknowledged that all musicians in the song did a tremendous job, but Rayvanny’s verse stood out.

In the song, Rayvanny sings that Magufuli was building a new statehouse for Tanzania, but he never got a chance to live in it following his untimely demise.

“Ikulu uliojenga mwenyewe hujaingia,” sings Rayvanny. Diamond stated that the reality of the line touched him.

“Kuna line mojo alisema pale ikukulu uliojenga mwenyewe hujaingia...maskini wa Mungu ilkulu uliomalizia hujaingia.Lakini kila msanii aligusa kila pahali...Tumejaribu kwa dakika chache kuonyesha kiasi gani alichofanya mheshimiwa,” said Diamond.

During the interview, Diamond further revealed how Magufuli was instrumental in getting the Wasafi TV back. The station was suspended after airing a raunchy performance by singer Gigy Money.

He noted that the late President, however, warned him to ensure he sticks to clean content and not take advantage of their relationship.
