Veteran Ugandan artist Kalifah Aganaga has dropped a new song dubbed 'Tugenda Mukutugema' encouraging Ugandans to embrace the COVID-19 vaccination exercise that kicked off on Thursday.
In Tugenda Mukutugema' (loosely translated from Luganda to mean ‘we are getting to be vaccinated'), Kalifah calls upon Ugandans to get ready for the vaccine in order to kick the virus out of the country.
He goes on to mention his fellow artists, starting with Bobi Wine, Kabako, Bebe Cool among others urging them not to resist the vaccine as it is the only way to save Ugandans from the virus.
"We joined hands with artists encouraging Ugandans to take the vaccine because COVID affected artists the most and we have to raise our voices and encourage masses. There is a lot of propaganda against this vaccine and we have to senstize people. Because if they don't agree to this, our shows will remain blocked," Kalifah said in an interview with Uncut.
He said they made this song to show the government that they were rallying behind them and has requested them to take a meeting so that educate them on how to follow the set guidelines.
