G.N.L Zamba Advises Ugandan Artists in the Diaspora How to Promote their Music Locally

Veteran Luga flow rapper G.N.L Zamba has advised young Ugandan artists in the diaspora to embrace the internet as a means to promote their music and popularize it among fans at home.

The self-proclaimed ghetto storyteller stands out in Uganda’s rap scene for popularizing Luganda Hip-hop with his Baboon Forest label.

G.N.L Zamba may have moved to the U.S.A for close to ten years, but he was never forgotten his motherland and his music has remained popular among Ugandans.

Now that he is back in the country and working on some projects under his label Baboon Forest Entertainment, he has a word of advice to the artists who are trying to make it in the industry away from home.

"If you want to make it internationally, to even a bigger level than me you have to study the greats, the ones that have made it in the industry. Basically I'm here to give advice; If you find me, ask me for a meeting instead of asking for selfies. Let's sit down and study the game together," Zamba told NBS Uncut.

Back in the day when the internet was not popular, Ugandan artists who moved abroad would go quiet and eventually fail musically. According G.N.L Zamba, they would write letters to tabloids asking to be featured. However, times have changed with social media making it easier.
