Dancehall and hip hop artiste Willz has finally spoken of claims that he has changed his style of music.

Speaking to YouTuber Hellen Zulu, Willz said that he has not changed anything and he is only moving with times which should not be construed to mean that he has changed his style of music.

“I can’t really say that I have changed but I am adapting to the new sound and I am still me. Maybe I might throw one or two English lines but of course, I went to school…” he said.

Willz added that in the music industry, it is hard to impress everyone because every person has a genre that he/she listens to.

Some of his fans have been raising questions about him changing genres but he says that different genres attract different fan base. But why not stick to one genre and entertain his fans in Zambia? He says that he wants his music to go beyond the borders of Zambia which is why he does different styles all in the accord of selling his art beyond Lusaka.

“At the point I am at now, I am trying not to concentrate on one fans base which is Zambia. Here they already know me so what’s my next step? he said.

Willz raised a point that has been spoken about by other Zambian artistes including Bobby East who said that they lack enough support from their own people, therefore, he has to try different styles to get this support elsewhere. However, if he got the support, Willz says he could do Chewa music for a lifetime.
