Clarisse Karasira; an upcoming Rwanda traditional singer has made public her plans to launch her debut album.
The album to be released in December will be a celebration of her three years in the music industry. ‘Inganzo y’Imitima’ is the name of the new album which has 18 Rwandan traditional songs.
The tracks are themed around the Rwandese culture and way of life which intrigues a lot of fans.
In the album, ‘Urukerereza’ is the favourite hit in Rwanda at the moment.
Karasira did some traditional justice to the song by roping in Afrobeat star Mani Martin who gives the song a touchy feel all through.
Speaking to New Times, Karasira said that thinking behind ‘Urukerereza’ was to encourage people to explore new friendships with people who they click with.
She added that these should be the people to confide and seek support from when things get tough and share happiness with when things are well and great.
“This is my first collaboration with another artiste. It took me time to decide on doing collaborations with other artistes because I wanted to first focus on building a true identity of my music through releasing singles to allow people to easily identify me with my music.
“It is such a great honour for me to have an artiste like Mani Martin to collaborate with,” the singer said in an interview.
