Rwanda’s RnB Sensation Peace Jolis Speaks on His Musical Journey and Role Models

Rwanda’s Afro pop and RnB singer Peace Jolis has opened up on his music journey, narrating the ups and downs he went through before becoming a star.

It all started in 2013 when he summed up his courage and started music before joining the sixth edition of Tusker Project Fame that would nurture his musical skills.

In a tell-it-all interview with Mdundo, he described his moments in TPF as an “amazing experience”.

“2013 was the year I started doing music professionally the same year I attended #TPF Season six which was an amazing experience to me,” he stated.

His RnB style of music, that appeals to many as is evident with “Icyo”, a dope hit released not too long ago was inspired by renowned international RnB artistes; NeYo and Akon.

“I grew up listening to @NeYoCompound @Akon etc... and their vibez inspired me a lot and shaped who i am today music wise.”

The 26-year-old RnB sensation in Rwanda also spoke of his academic background in administration and management.

Peace Jolis offered that he has never been professionally engaged to his academic background but “use the skills in his daily life and career (music) every day.”

With the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down every sector, Peace Jolis implores that he has learnt to appreciate every musical move in his journey including live performances.

If there is one thing that he looks forward to is entertaining his fans in a live performance like he used to.

“I miss performing for a crowd! Can't wait to get back on stage,” he said.
