Legendary Ugandan vocalist Iryn Namubiru is set to host her online concert in collaboration with Fezah (a tech and entertainment company that connects musicians to stages worldwide through data).
Quite different from the other online concerts we’ve witnessed, anyone interested in watching Iryn's performance will have to pay some cash to get access.
Following a public outcry, Iryn Namubiru noted that putting up such a concert cots a lot of money, and thus the need to charge.
"As artistes we are investing a lot so we want to also earn something because we do not know when we will resume concerts," she said.
The 'Yono' hit maker promised that her concert will be different from the previous ones as she is lining up a number of musicians to perform alongside her.
The concert will be streaming live on Fezah’s website for 90 minutes. Anyone interested in watching the performances will be required to pay Ugx 10000 or 5 USD.
Namubiru noted that she is not interested in making a lot of money, adding that her aim is to raise enough cash to pay her band members.
"As long as I get the money to pay up my band, it will be enough. I will have done something good in that if I'm to make the second concert, I will be a better performer and I know I will get more viewers," she said.
