Audacious female band at it again with new jam, Mwanake
28 July 2014
It is evident that times are changing and as these sands of time shift, so do the day to day things. Remember a while ago when wealth was directly proportional to age? And when sex actually mattered when it came to leadership?
Well now I bet hearing of twenty year old millionaires and females in leadership and other positions of power has become sort of casual. Right? The beauty of life is what I call it.
In the frontline of this tide of change is Kenyan female band KIU and Mdundo got to talk to this bodacious trio on their new song, “Mwanake”.

“Mwanake is a song about falling in love when you least expect it or unconsciously find yourself in a compromising love situation. We felt that we should make a song on such a situation hoping to relate to those who have been in such waters.” Shared Rosa
“We actually did the recording of the audio early this year on February but decided to wait for the perfect time to release it. The video should drop late this week courtesy of Mwende who is the video director” she added.
KIU’s last song “ The City’’ introduced the world to the joys of beautiful music, new sounds and female voices that were fully conscious of their composition. They make music that has puts a face on the day to day things that we are unable to explain and this is what makes the world fall in love.
Let’s make all those Monday blues fade away with some KIU music right here on Mdundo!
