When new hits are released it is always an honor for us to give upcoming artists a platform to showcase their skills.
Ian Gituku aka Pace is one of the fast rising artists in Nairobi. Pace, who describes his music style as rapping along melodious tunes, started music at a very tender age as he reveals.
“I started doing music when I was in primary school and I used to play a lot of instruments. After I joined high school I won an award for song writing and from then on I started developing my music skills,” Pace.
He got into the mainstream industry in 2010 with his debut single “Go Bananas” and has since then released a fair number of songs including ‘Twende Safari’ just recently.
“Just from watching the movie Nairobi Half Life I was impressed on how the main character moves from upcountry into the city in the hope of getting a better life only to find that life in the city wasn’t how he expected. So in my song I chose to interpret this story in a relationship perspective,” he told Mdundo.
Pace is also the CEO of Pace Music Entertainment (PME); a recording label in Nairobi and is currently working on the video for Twende Safari.
