Nigerian rapper Shallipopi has released a new track titled ASAP and it is simply epic. The track is the intro song to his latest album Shakespopi and a great opening song that immediately hooks the listener. Featuring a blend of Highlife, traditional music and elements of modern production makes the track a beautiful work of art. The beat samples an old song by Sir Waziri Oshamah and includes a modern Afrobeat sound to it accompanied by some mesmerizing flute sounds in the background. Shallipopi gives the listener an enjoyable lyrical flow that complements the beat all while humbly bragging about his pen game. In the song he refers to himself as the greatest philosopher with great writing skills comparing himself to Shakespeare. With the visuals, Shallipopi still uses the same approach of mixing both traditional and modern day elements.
