Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick as Manchester City thrashed Bournemouth 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Norwegian striker opened the scoring in the 19th minute, when he headed home from a Kevin De Bruyne cross. He doubled City's lead in the 24th minute, when he finished off a flowing move involving De Bruyne and Phil Foden.
Haaland completed his hat-trick in the 37th minute, when he tapped home from close range after a pass from Riyad Mahrez.
City continued to dominate in the second half, and they added three more goals. Phil Foden scored in the 51st minute, after a good run and pass from Bernardo Silva. Julian Alvarez scored in the 62nd minute, after a pass from Haaland. And Mahrez scored in the 85th minute, after a good run and pass from Foden.
Bournemouth pulled a consolation goal back in the 89th minute, through Marcus Tavernier. But it was too little, too late, as City cruised to victory.
City dominated the game from start to finish, and they could have scored more goals. They had 28 shots on goal, compared to Bournemouth's 5.
Haaland was the star of the show, but he was well supported by his teammates. De Bruyne, Foden, and Mahrez all had excellent games.
Bournemouth struggled to cope with City's quality throughout the game. They were defensively weak, and they didn't create enough chances in attack.
