United took the lead in the 10th minute through a Diogo Dalot free-kick. The Portuguese right-back curled a beautiful shot into the top corner of the net, leaving Sheffield United goalkeeper Wes Foderingham with no chance.
Sheffield United equalized in the 25th minute through a Billy Sharp penalty. Scott McTominay was adjudged to have fouled Oli McBurnie in the box, and Sharp converted the penalty coolly.
