KENYA: Cece Sagini Stays True to the 'Kenyan Sound' in Latest Release 'Ensobosobo'
25 July 2016
Cece Sagini is a woman on a mission. Riding on the success of two of her former records, ‘I’m a doer’ featuring Octopizzo and ‘9 to 5’, the singer has taken her music a notch higher with her latest jam titled ‘Ensobosobo’.
The new jam which is written and performed in three languages, Kisii, Kiswahili and English is unlike most of the tracks we see in Kenya today that borrow a lot from popular Naija flava, South African Kwaito or Bongo flava.
It is however a blend of traditional Kisii music with traditional Kisii artist Nyangau providing this sound with the seasoned producer Jaaz Odongo crossing it with the modern sound.
“Ensobosobo, just like love, is a Kisii wild fruit that is sweet but rare to find,” Cece writes in the description of the video.
The video which is directed by Brain Works’ Moses Osidiana just like the audio is a work of art. From the way it depicts the story of love and conflict to the elements used in the video itself.
This is no doubt, Cece’s biggest hit yet and she has now proven to everyone that she has a knack for making hits.
