Why Ugandan Star Eddy Kenzo Turned Down Opportunity to Appear in Coke Studio Africa Season 4

Coke Studio Africa for many artists in the continent is an opportunity of a lifetime. One that opens doors not just financially for the artists but also as a means for them to grow in the careers.

Only the best of the best can go on Coke Studio Africa and thus appearing on the show is a unique opportunity for these artists to get connects with some of the biggest names musically in Africa and beyond.

Therefore it came as a shock to many when Ugandan artist and 2015 BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo allegedly turned down the opportunity to appear on this prestigious show.

According to a report by entertainment news website MsetoEA, the “Sitya Loss” hit maker was “contacted by Coke Studio management to feature in this year’s edition of the annual music show but he turned down the offer because of his busy schedule.”

“He was contacted but he turned down the offer because he has no time. He said he had due shows already signed to perform,” the anonymous source is quoted saying.

The report further claims that Eddy Kenzo would have relished the chance to appear on the show but only when the timing is right.

But the show as they say must go on. Despite artist turning down the opportunity, the shows management decided to go with the more seasoned duo of Radio & Weasel as well as, Lydia Jazmine, Geosteady and Sheebah Karungi.

Now whether the young singer will get another invite to appear on the show after snubbing them once remains solely to the show’s producers.
