KENYA: "I Am No Longer Part of Provoke Music" - Wangechi

For the longest time now rapper/singer Wangechi and producer and manager Kevin Provoke have been together, a never ending partnership it seems.

So fans were caught off guard yesterday when Wangechi took to social media where she announced that she was no longer part of Provoke Music.

“Official Announcement. I am no longer part of Provoke Music and will be releasing and distributing music under Nuke Recordings. Ceilings is gonna be my first major project out under Nuke recordings. Toast to new paths,” the artist wrote on her official Facebook page.

One question however lurks in our minds after this supposed shock move by the rapper, why?

On the other hand Kevin Provoke of Provoke music was also on social media yesterday where he announced a rebrand of his Provoke Music label into the same Nuke Recordings that Wangechi announced that she will be distributing her music through.

“We always have to be ready to grow, move on and rebrand when need be ........New Label, New partners and off course new sound .........Thanks for always supporting the previous, lets now reshape what we have been about #NUKERECORDINGS,” he wrote.

So have Wangechi and her longtime producer and manager finally parted ways? Well we think not. This announcement just seems to point out the new direction that the record label is taking and not the end of the road for the two.
