KENYA: Rapper Abbas Kubaff Goes on Social Media Rant After Receiving a Meager Ksh89 Royalties from MCSK
23 May 2016

While last week some of the Skiza tunes artists were celebrating racking in millions from the just released royalties, veteran rapper Abbas Kubaff was not in the same celebrative mood.
This is because the rapper allegedly received a meager Ksh89 from Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) presumably from the Skiza tunes royalties.
The rapper who is not in the country at the moment and will not be coming back any time soon, went on a rant on Twitter clearly indicating how frustrated he was by the body.
“MCSK is just killing and frustrating the industry 4 real! Ati 89 ksh. Skiza tunes...GERARRAHIAAA!!”
Well this just adds on to the problems of MCSK and the number of artists who have recently come out to expose the measly cheques from the body.
Earlier this year Elani released a video with a compelling argument that MCSK has robbed them blind which ultimately shook the whole music industry and sparked a lot of debates on all forms of media.
P-Unit also came out to reveal that they only received Sh250 for their popular hit song ‘Kare’.
Now from the Abbas Kubaff situation, questions may rise once again as to whether the MCSK learned its lesson from this year rant’s from the entertainment industry.
