NIGERIA: Three More Drake-Wizkid Songs to Come, One Dance Co-producer Reveals

When fans heard that Drake and Wizkid were finally getting on one track, it was like a long awaited dream come true.

However when they finally heard the song One Dance, it was not quite the collaboration they were looking forward to. Wizkid’s role in the song was minor to say the least lasting just about 30 seconds.

But finally there’s good news for all you Wizkid fans that were hoping for more. DJ Maphorisa who is a co-producer in the song One Dance has revealed that there are still three more songs that the two stars are will collaborate in.

In an interview with Genius, DJ Maphorisa said he was in Los Angeles two weeks ago working on Wizkid’s upcoming album when the opportunity to contribute to Drake’s potential song of the summer arose.

According to the 28-year-old, born Themba Sekowe, after remixing Wizkid’s ‘Ojuelegba’ last summer, Drake collaborated with the Nigerian artist on ‘One Dance’ via email.

“I was recording Wiz when they sent [the files],” Maphorisa said, referring to Wizkid’s background vocals on the song. “There was nothing really there. We started working on it—I added some production.”

The DJ said they finished One Dance in only a week and it was only one of four tracks they recorded.
