KENYA: From Making Music to Digging Boreholes, Popular Record Label to Launch Foundation

Granpa Records’ Refigah is one of the most celebrated names in the local music industry having begun his musical career 19 years ago as a dancer to opening his own record label that has grown to become one of the biggest and most celebrated in the region.

Refigah is set to celebrate his 19 year anniversary inn music and Grandpa Records’ 6 year anniversary on the 31st of March and as revealed some of the talking points in the event will be the launch of the Grandpa Foundation, which will be involved in drilling boreholes countrywide.

“During our tours, I have come across people who have never seen clean water. Water is life and the genesis of everything so these people need our help,” said Refigah speaking to the Pulse.

The anniversary had been planned for last month but was postponed due to what the creative director explained was his tight schedule.

Meanwhile a source close to the Pulse revealed that one of the record label’s emerging stars Dufla Diligon, recorded a collabo with Jamaican star Darrio famed for the hit collabo Sidung with Dancehall superstar Konshens.
